FDA authorizes Covid boosters for teens 12-15

01/03/2022 10:15 AM ESTThe Food and Drug Administration authorized Covid-19 booster shots Monday for adolescents ages 12-15, marking the latest step by the U.S. government to green-light more vaccine doses for younger Americans.

The decisions come as the more transmissable Omicron variant threatens to disrupt daily life in the country well into the winter and as school districts in Democratic-led states scale back efforts to mandate students get vaccinated to not get ahead of regulators. “In the current situation, it is important to offer all eligible individuals a booster, particularly against the backdrop of the newly-emerging variants such as Omicron," Ugur Sahin, CEO and co-founder of BioNTech said in a statement.

The FDA and CDC expanded booster access to 16- and 17-year-olds on Dec. 9, citing Omicron's rapid rise.

There hasn't been much time to research the effects of boosters in children, let alone the relative risk/benefit of boosters vs. Omicron in children. I suppose this is the call to place your kids in the research study w/ no consent form, no liability.

This is the same FDA that just lied to you (for the 100th time) & said Omnicron was over 70% of cases b4 Christmas, trying to make every1 too scared to celebrate…then quietly changed it to 22%…while denying lifesaving treatments across the country for the Delta strain.

It does not stop the spread, it does not stop you from receiving the virus. The Omni is on average the same result as the Flu. So with most the people getting it being vaxed and boosted I am not sure why the push. Not worth the time to go get it even for the Pro vax people.

Because 1st dose of covid vax already deteriorating kids natural a immune system. We hadn't seen covid infection among young kids in 2020 2021 except few underling.
