The relationship between a Japanese woman and a U.S. Army captain stationed in Syria started online, through an international social network for digital pen pals. It grew into an internet romance over 10 months of daily emails.
Federal authorities cited the case of the Japanese woman, known only as"F.K." in court papers, on Thursday when they announced an indictment charging 80 people with stealing at least $46 million through various schemes that targeted businesses, the elderly and anyone susceptible to a romance scam. Most of the defendants are Nigerians.
"F.K. was and is extremely depressed and angry about these losses," the federal complaint states."She began crying when discussing the way that these losses have affected her." F.K. ultimately made 35 to 40 payments, receiving as many as 10 to 15 emails a day directing her to send money to accounts in the U.S., Turkey and the United Kingdom through the captain's many purported associates.
These are Americans of Nigerian decent please. More American than Nigerian. True Nigerians are generally good people.
Catch them all
Hmmmmm.Short of words but as somebody that has lived in the U S this has always been the case with some of us Nigerians but i neva expected it to get to such an embarrassing level (Anyway i guess this is all part of the NEXT-LEVEL Agenda).God help us all.
This is how they keep polluting Nigeria's name. just bring them back Buhari will open our jail for them. or the united states government can jail them for life please. because if I should ever think of coming to that country tomorrow they will see me as a scam, and a fraud.
Good job FBI! Make sure you seize all there properties
Nice to see all the judgmental stereotypical comments. The same people who scream at President Trump for calling Mexicans drug dealers and rapists...goes to show how hypocritical people are.
Phew! Good thing Uganda wasn’t involved. I won the lottery there this morning. Just waiting on my check.
Finally! I never thought it would end! I got so much crap from these ppl, oh you won..., just pay this amt, etc. The scams are never ending over there! Id actually like to meet (and beat) some if these assholes!!
It pains me that those opportued to get a U.S. visa would chose to tanish the image of Nigeria making it difficult for the good ones to travel and work honestly to make a living. No crime should go unpunished let them pay for their evil act.
Are those the Nigerians who beat up Jussie Smollett?
Lock them up, tired of these thugs 😡
GREAT WORK! TIME TO PUT THESE LOSERS OUT OF BUSINESS!
Great job, FBI!
Worthy arrests, beats arresting working people at their place of employment.
Owolabe2
Thank goodness!! These jerks are so hard to catch! Sad thing is the victims wont ever get their money back.
How many of the arrested are members of the US Congress? Liberal Conservative republican democrat Republican Democrat Christians Christianity
So is my degree not any good? Nigeria Adult High School
If Obama had a family, oh wait...
Nigerians started the credit card and identity fraud and schemes yearsssss ago.
So I’m not getting my millions from the Prince?
I hope this doesn’t involve the son of deceased Gen. Al-Badari Surugaba. He’s become a most beloved friend of mine after our chance encounter by email
Explains why I have not gotten an email from the prince in awhile. He was such a nice guy too. Dude better pay me my money back though
If convicted, they need to apologize&repay victims-in person. Then their faces need to be spread all over social media. Then jailed.
Way to go LEO's.
FBI doing a helluva good job despite worthless traitors Trump and Barr
The US should impose tougher penalties like life imprisonment and recovery of all funds that have been acquired illegally, especially by African dictators who stash their stolen loot abroad
Is that black guy the Nigerian prince?
Federal prosecutors announced a 252-count indictment charging 80 people in the U.S. and Nigeria for candy laundering, fraud, and identity theft, after they kinda probably used a variety of tactics and scams to steal candy from businesses and individuals.
Now if only the federal prosecutors would go after the criminals in the White House. Put that energy where it counts the most.
I’m here to talk to you about your car’s extended warranty
