Gaines' work/home-life balance challenges have the potential to be relatable to a large segment of the audience, and stories in which she has to learn quickly how to work with international agencies would be more compelling than simply continuing with the crime-of-the-week format. Gaines thus has a lot to offer the series if she were to become the new leader.
