FBI chief slams Chinese cyberattacks: 'One of the largest transfers of wealth in human history'

FBI Director Christopher Wray arrives for the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee hearing titled Threats to the Homeland, in Hart Building on Tuesday, November 5, 2019.WASHINGTON — In blistering remarks Tuesday, FBI Director Christopher Wray slammed the Chinese government for its use of espionage and cyberattacks against the United States which has amounted to what he called "one of the largest transfers of wealth in human history.

"To achieve its goals and surpass America, China recognizes it needs to make leaps in cutting edge technology, but the sad fact is that instead of engaging in the hard slog of innovation, China often steals American intellectual property and then uses it to compete against the very American companies it victimizes, in effect, cheating twice," he said, adding that the Chinese government targets "research on everything from military equipment to wind turbines.

"Confronting this threat effectively does not mean we shouldn't do business with the Chinese, does not mean we shouldn't host Chinese visitors, it does not mean we shouldn't welcome Chinese students or coexist with China on the world stage," Wray explained. "It does mean that when China violates our criminal laws and international norms, we are not going to tolerate, much less enable."citing national security concerns.

Chinese spies are everywhere.

Is LeBron James still defending China?

NO DOUBT: China is knee deep with Jeffrey Epstein!

It’s the FED criminals

Can you be more specific in listing out what was stolen, when, how and by whom. So far it's just very wide general allegations with nothing to substantiate them. In other words lies and fake news.

Maybe not the largest as FED did. The billionaires and country clubs that received small business loans from the government

Maybe not the largest as Fed did. A WSJ analysis found 45 of the biggest U.S. law firms got at least $210 million in PPP loans, including the firms of David Boies and Marc Kasowitz, a longtime Trump lawyer via WSJ

We can’t worry about anything until our country is in the hands of competent leadership again.

We lived in the communist country , we understand thoroughly, don't ever believe them, they could kill their own family for communism, they are not human, they are worse than animal.

Was he talking about China or the United States?

SpokespersonCHN hey any comment on this stuff

chenweihua zlj517 SpokespersonCHN

No, that was actually Haliburton in Iraq. Or was it Jared as the PPE Godfather?

Chinese communist party has already started full scale war on American, virus attacks war, trade war, cyber war, etc. They think Americans are cowards. We must unite all allies and start full scale economic, political and military war on Chinese communist party.

Trump will punish China by getting them to agree to buy more soybeans (that they won’t actually ever buy as many as promised). He’ll cave like he did on Huawei. The trade dispute with China was ALWAYS about IP theft & Trump had 4 years and never did a thing to address that issue.

Stop talking and do something about it...you people are slackers, the Chinese is eating your lunch!

A taste of your own medicine here

FBI realDonaldTrump SecPompeo BetsyDeVosED - we need to address Zoom Video Communications ($ZM) and their ties to the CCP - we are allowing our schools, businesses and gov agencies to be open to intellectual theft by not banning it.

Nortel's IP was stolen by the Chinese.

What is Trump doing about this threat from the Communist Chinese Government on cyberspace? Probably nothing.

I am sure some geniuses will come out and blame Trump for it? Oops!

Important. But also very convenient it fits so well with the Trump administrations reinvigorated agenda of demonizing China, building them up an enemy for use as a political device through the elections...

Don't believe these Tump planted FBI officials for a minute

What’s up with airing the same episode of Shark Tank two nights in a row Kinda defeats the purpose of retaining viewers, no?

Think he means the PPE theft

Cyberattacks leads to transfers of wealth? Sometimes journalists are too eager to get clickbaits titles that they don't even care about making sense.

do something about it

this headline is so confusing

Is he talking about the PPP program?

This is all about silencing the voice of America's youth and how dare they make Dear Leader look like the fool he is.

I’m sure trump has something to do with it!

But Trump was ok asking for thier help on his re-election...

Trump Criticizes Bubba Wallace, Calls Noose Incident A ‘Hoax’ Despite FBI FindingsPresident Trump intimated Nascar made a mistake by banning Confederate flags at their races and suggested that Bubba Wallace should apologize for an incident the president called a 'hoax,' despite FBI findings You mean the FBI findings that there was no hate crime committed ? Bully in Cheif I wouldn't call it a hoax, but it wasn't anything racially motivated either, like it had been suggested. Also Trump is dumb.
