A vigil was held Wednesday night to honor the memory of a 35-year-old woman was struck and killed in a hit-and-run crash, just one of several violent crimes that have left three women dead in recent days.

“We’re here because we want justice for an angel,” her sister Theresa Dorsey said. “We want the people who did this to come forward.”“That’s my daughter, my oldest daughter, and she’s gonna be truly missed,” Theresa Jefferson said.

Thomas’ death was one of several tragic incidents that have taken place in the Chicago area in recent days. Early Friday morning, hairstylist Tamiko Talbert was driving and looking for a parking spot in the 7100 block of South Artesian when a dark-colored SUV pulled up alongside her vehicle, and a person in the back of the vehicle fired shots, striking her in the head.Derick Patrick, who was pregnant with her second child, was sitting in her car on Jan.

“Cook County saw over 1,000 homicides last year, and 23% of those were women,” she said. “That’s double the previous year. The daily shootings and homicides cannot be the new normal. This has to stop.” Preckwinkle says that the council’s aim is to reverse long-standing disinvestment in the most violent neighborhoods in the county, with the hopes of reversing those recent upward trends in crime.

Residents Call For Change Following Death Of ER Nurse Sandra ShellsResidents are calling for a change in public transportation safety measures after emergency room nurse Sandra Shells' death on Sunday. She was viciously attacked at a Metro bus stop on Thursday morning while she was heading to work. Rip The police can only do so much, this was an isolated incident, could have happened anywhere in the city, not just on Metro property. I ride daily, see many officers out watching and riding Metro. 🙂👍🇺🇸 Saddened,...😥 but pleased at what the law enforcement does daily in LA. 👍 The LAPD is punishing the citizens of LA for demanding change in the summer of 2020. They LIE and claim they were defunded. They have NOT been defunded. The LAPD thinks they are going to teach us a lesson by not actually policing.

Toni Preckwinkle Along With Family, Friends Of Women Shot And Killed While Going To Work Call For JusticeCook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle joins the family of a woman lost to gun violence Friday to call for justice. A walk for justice. As long as that justice doesn't hold anyone accountable for the crime, right? But they still refuse to cooperate with police. 😞 Preckwinkle is part of the same Kim Foxx/Judge Tim Evans cabal that refuses to jail criminals who commit violent crimes with their 'reformative justice' experiment so this falls on her, on Judge Evans and especially SAKimFoxx !
