That's a loaded statement. There's lots of evidence of effectiveness. If you're referring to randomized clinical trials, there hasn't been time, and there're real ethical concerns about doing RCTs on patients during a pandemic (especially with a drug that's already FDA approved).

No one is discussing how patients who relied on hydroxychloroquine prior to coronavirus are no longer able to get it. Patients with lupus and EDS who have been taking the medicine for several years have been told by pharmacies they're no longer allowed to sell it to them.
Except for the hundreds of doctors saying it does work along with 10s if not 100s of thousands of patients who lives were saved by these drugs. COVID19
