Exxon Mobil Corp. rocketed to its highest-ever annual profit last year, riding surging oil prices to resurrect its status as one of America’s most profitable companies and erase billions of dollars of losses incurred during the pandemic.
The largest U.S. oil company turned in record annual earnings of $55.7 billion for 2022 in its quarterly earnings Tuesday, outpacing big banks, tech giants and vaccine makers. Among companies that have reported fourth-quarter earnings, only Apple Inc. and Microsoft Corp. have surpassed Exxon’s profit in fiscal 2022 so far, and only Google parent Alphabet Inc. is projected to post a higher return, according to a Wall Street Journal analysis.
while fleecing the sheep...
I don't take either party seriously when it comes to green energy or cracking down on price gouging. Democrats promised NEVER to take oil $ and of course flip flopped on that. Russia is the world's largest oil exporter raking in 92 billion USD + in 2022.
They're going to pay back the loans they got from the American government, right?.... Right?
Politics1com Shame! Shame!
No duh. Supply shortages not affecting Exxon's supply.
Any comment about Pfizer? They are estimated to have almost $32 billion net profit for 2022. Almost exclusively from COVID. Is that outrageous?
big oil had a big year
Algo parecido a Pemex?
Standard contemporary business model: buy companies that produce essential products. Shut down facilities and fire workers to reduce operating expenses/supply capacity. Raise prices. It's not just the oil companies. That's how venture capital and investment banks work.
'Inflation' ⛽⛽⛽
But same dividend ?
excellent price gougers - natural resources should be a non-profit enterprise
But sure let's have more heartwarming stories about kids fundraising so their teacher can get a car, or old people celebrating their 90th birthday on the job at Wal-Mart.
Cutting emissions?
Yeah capitalism! Now, about this planetary climate death spiral . . .
'...resurrect its status as one of America's most evil companies.' There, fixed it for you. exxonknew
Corporate profit is now 22 percent of GDP and this is only the tip of the economic disaster looming, or economic system is unsustainable 🤔
so its like 1 billion per week profit?
Exxon price gouging people
Even with lower prices, they profit.
Mmm, record corporate profits paid for by hard-working Americans. It’s the Repugnantcan way. And it’s pathetic. GOP
Yet again, looking at all these comments, the general public doesn’t know how Oil prices are set and think they are “owed” products at low prices. This is just like any other company, does McDonalds sell cheaper to be nice to you? You don’t have to buy the product.
Holy hell
...monopoly with no oversight
They probably funded Biden & the Dems. Under Trump deregulation they had competition. And Biden also banned purchase of Russian oil 🤔
So Americans are gauged on oil prices...
But I thought Joe Biden raised the prices?
Haven’t we all been paying ridiculously high gas prices (with relatively low crude oil prices to boot!) the last couple of years?
As bad as Crypto
