Sanctions against Chinese tech companies have further exacerbated the crisis. Originally concentrated in the auto industry, the shortage has now spread to a range of other consumer electronics, including smartphones, refrigerators and microwaves. A shortage of auto semiconductor chips could impact nearly 1.3 million units of global light vehicle production in the first quarter, according to data firm IHS Markit.
Qualcomm Inc, whose chips feature in Samsung phones, is one major chipmaker struggling to keep up with demand. Apple Inc’s major supplier Foxconn also warned of the chip shortage affecting supply chains to clients.
One of most reasons is American government always crack down Huawei,a Chinese private enterprise which has a great many patents,to protect their own reign around the world.
The only reason anybody would care is the fact that because all the monopolies have gone to buying their supplies from out of the United States but charging everybody nice takes way more money for them then it do two countries have a falling out you've got no chips.
Sounds like another excuse to fleece the public. We're supposed to believe in a pandemic, when millions have lost jobs, that people are buying MORE STUFF? It's just like the claims of the housing market. Who the hell buys in a depression at supposedly premium prices?
