BRUSSELS - Prime Minister Boris Johnson appears set for a sweeping election victory on a promise to “Get Brexit done”, but there is a reality check waiting for jaded voters who are feeling relieved that the messy divorce seems to be finally over. With early vote-counting indicating a handsome Conservative majority, Johnson should be able to finally secure parliamentary approval for the withdrawal agreement he struck with the European Union in October so that Brexit happens on Jan. 31.
Trade agreements with the EU typically take years to complete, and few in Brussels believe the transition period will be long enough to seal a deal with Britain. In addition to Johnson’s push for a “zero tariff, zero quota” trade deal, the bloc wants a guarantee of “zero dumping”. The two sides will probably negotiate fishing quotas, as the EU currently does with Norway, whereby so-called total allowable catches are shared among EU countries but officials say this will be a drawn-out and potentially acrimonious process. With industry supply chains in the EU currently crossing borders multiple times for products like cars and drugs, agreeing exact rules to designate where products come from - and hence what regulations and taxes apply - will also be tricky.
Be careful what you wish for.
It was definatey a reality check for anti-Semitic Corbyn that ihis views are unacceptable.
Reminder to Reuters: Pictures of assholes are not allowed on Twitter.
Toilet paper black market...
Shouldn't the story be, 'reality check - Left wing media doesn't have the influence it thinks it does'
Are there ever any 'reality checks' for left wingers or their media?
On November 1917 Russia start to be gulag, now UK follow ..to be gulag
It’s the beginning of the end.
'Brexit is finally done' Oh no, not even close.
Reuter lied against Boris and demonized him as a NAD leader and instead of apologising now that he has won convincingly they are stay attacking him
Decades of negociations and termoil. Thanks Scotland.
Brits want to be Brits so ..don't worry about them
Hey Reuter’s, yesterday you assured a big Labor win, will you retract and apologize?
The DECLINE AND DECAY of United Kingdom starts today!
So we’re all too dumb for “Primer” now.
Since when did Reuter’s set the political agenda for Britain
Reuters is a sewer
The man just won a landslide election and the media is already up his bum.
Johnson ain’t having any long negotiation. He got his mandate and it’s Brexit, period. Electing Johnson was an affirmation of the 2016 Brexit to get it done quickly.
Wishy-washy Labour on Brexit paid the price.
The results indicated that humiliated Labour should have never been the lesser of two evils for British electorate. Now PM Johnson can move forward with his Brexit strategy without being impeded.
Yes, it’s just the beginning. Europe is falling down!!
At least its beginning

I'll miss you Britain
This will be the thing that deflates the enthusiasm, when people realize Boris' vision means several more years of negotiation. No hard Brexit = byzantine negotiation hell. Nigel may have been utterly defeated last night but he is probably right that Boris is going to go soft.
The mandate has been declared ... Brexit it is.
'The EU insists it will not seal a trade deal with a large, economically powerful and near neighbor without solid provisions to guarantee fair competition.'
