The U.S. Federal Trade Commission, which enforces the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act, or COPPA, and the Justice Department, which often files court actions for the FTC, have opened a preliminary investigation into the matter involving the China-based video-sharing app. In a bigger settlement, highlighting that TikTok was not alone, Alphabet’s YouTube agreed in September 2019 to pay $170 million to settle allegations it too violated COPPA by tracking kids online.

Just a thought: maybe the U.S. should protect children from Covid? And getting shot at school?

Yeah, you have to have children that give a fuck about that. They're going to VPN into that app anyway, only now you've lost control completely. They won't all figure it out, but enough of them will to remove the only controls that you thought you had.

Remember when Snowden revealed breaches of American citizens' privacy in the form of internet and phone surveillance by intelligence agencies? Pompeo is the king of making up bs claims whatever he speaks about. He is the most criminal person right after Trump and Barr in this whole administration.

Harvard, MIT Sue Immigration Officials Over Rule Blocking Some International StudentsHarvard and MIT are suing the U.S. government — seeking to reverse a federal policy announced Monday that would bar international students from attending U.S. colleges that go online-only this fall. There’s also a trickle down effect no one is talking about. Most of them probably have signed leases for off campus housing for the 2020-2021 school year. Who eats that? Landlords or the students you just kicked out of the country? They don’t want American dollar. They want that foreign student top dollar. Shame on Harvard! Right on!

Explainer: Why is the new U.S. policy for international students causing backlash from colleges? The administration of President Donald Trump issued new rules this week that could force tens of thousands of international students to leave the United States if their schools hold all classes online amid the coronavirus pandemic, causing panic among colleges and foreign students. Because the cost of tuition is higher for on campus than online classes. There is ZERO reason to force EVERY international student affected by COVID, out of this country, most likely only for a semester. I have a friend who's on a fullride scholarship and has a lease and a job. Her family can't afford flights to Kenya and back. This serves no purpose. Cause foreign students pay cash up front and not require scholarships drawing the schools profit.

Explainer: What 1.1 million foreign students contribute to the U.S. economyThe Trump administration said on Monday that foreign university students will have to leave the country if their classes are all taught online - clouding the future of tens of thousands of enrollees and potentially straining budgets at schools struggling to reopen during the coronavirus pandemic. Is it in America’s best interest? Is that what a good country would do? Does this action benefit a person, a nation or the world? Reuter is nothing else than a fake propaganda machine. Of course they contribute but what is clear is that the student take profit from the great american universities and society. to turn it the way that the student give is just wrong and unfair.
