Her comments come as Biden and Harris battle to win over black voters, a crucial constituency in the Democratic nominating contest.

Not a fan of Biden but his working with segregationist senators was just a reality of the time. Those senators were elected to the Senate, not because Biden put them there. Biden had no choice but to work with them to get anything done. Choosing not to is simply an empty gesture.
