WELLINGTON - New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern faces tough challenges as she heads into a general election campaign next year, with economic growth slowing, divisive referendums looming and a country reeling from disasters both natural and man-made.
Economic growth has slowed as a failed government housing project, new restrictions on oil exploration and foreign investment in real estate, plus tighter immigration rules have dented business confidence. Ardern said New Zealand was still “holding up well” relative to its peers, with unemployment the lowest in a decade and wages growth solid.
“We see an ongoing role for us to play to try our very, very best to curb the ability for that tool to be used by anybody else,” Ardern said, noting that response protocols developed in the aftermath of Christchurch had already been used in Europe. Ardern has pledged to hold an investigation, saying important questions demanded to be answered, but declined to comment on the potential longer-term impacts on New Zealand’s thrill-seeker tourism economy.

pravemn TheJaneWardell Overall, she is doing a great job. She has put NZ on the map for all the right reasons.
pravemn TheJaneWardell Socialism/progressive policies ruin another economy wake up people
pravemn TheJaneWardell One of the most condescending, insufferable world leaders I’ve ever had the misfortune to hear speak.
pravemn TheJaneWardell Then again the opposition leader is not very inspiring. Simon Bridges isnt the best leader his party have ever had by a considerable distance.
pravemn TheJaneWardell She still the GOAT
Socialist policies, social justice political correct bullshit never works
Vote woke, go broke
She is, without exception or peer, the best Prime Minister Aotearoa has ever had.
Investing in Hemp could provide NZ with new jobs, and building materials to resolve the housing crises. We need to do that before investing heavily in new power plants. That way NZ would have the income to pay down the debt of the new infrastructure. Take my ideas I don't care🇳🇿
