President-elect Joe Biden will aim to release every available dose of the coronavirus vaccine when he takes office, a break with the Trump administration's strategy of holding back half of US vaccine production to ensure second doses are available.
Releasing all vaccine doses on hand could quickly ratchet up the availability of coronavirus vaccines by allowing more people access to a first dose. It could also be a risky strategy as both Pfizer/BioNTech and Moderna's vaccines require two doses, administered at specific intervals, and vaccine manufacturing has not ramped up as rapidly as many experts had hoped.

In Florida we are testing right and left and getting our vaccines in the first phase of inoculations - first dose is next week. Thanks to GovRonDeSantis So glad I live in FL!! And been to Disney World 4 times since August. Living the best life that we can at this time!!

What good does releasing all of it do if the States don’t get them out? If they aren’t properly stored & expire? This is ridiculous! The States need to get it together & get their citizens inoculated. Look at Florida GovRonDeSantis he is getting it done!

This will evolve into the fiasco that occurred with the newest shingles vaccine that requires two doses. It was difficult to find even the first dose and they didn't save second doses for folks. It was a nightmare locating a pharmacy for a second dose in the stated timeframe.
