Un tribunal de El Salvador instaló el miércoles el juicio contra el excandidato presidencial y diputado del Parlamento Centroamericano Norman Quijano, procesado por los delitos de fraude electoral y de asociaciones ilícitas, por supuestamente haber pactado beneficios para las pandillas a cambio de que lo apoyaran en los comicios presidenciales de 2014.
El juicio, al que se negó el acceso a la prensa, se instaló pese a la ausencia de Quijano, quien está prófugo, debido a que el Código procesal penal del país fue reformado en 2022 para poder enjuiciar a un imputado aún sin estar presente. “Durante el desarrollo , la Fiscalía va a presentar la prueba documental pericial y testimonial que ya fue admitida en la audiencia preliminar del caso para estos delitos”, dijo a los periodistas la fiscal del caso.
