A former San Antonio Independent school board member fears low enrollment and staff cuts are getting worse in the school district.

Carlos Villareal was a school board member for SAISD for eight years from 2004 to 2012. His great granddaughter attends Baskin Elementary. The district's plan to close several campuses will eventually mean that Baskin will close.

"Bus drivers, cafeteria people, custodians - what do all those people have in common? They’re all tax payers, so you’re about to put tax payers on the streets because you’re going to close schools," says Villareal.
