'I'll never forget that night,' Boldin says as the commercial for the NFL's Inspire Change initiative opens.

Sunday afternoon, tells the story of the 31-year-old church drummer who was shot and killed by former Palm Beach Gardens police officer Nouman Raja, and Boldin’s efforts since then, such as co-founding the Players Coalition.

Jones was stranded on an Interstate 95 exit ramp in Palm Beach Gardens during the early morning hours of Oct. 18, 2015. Raja, who claimed self-defense in the shooting, drove the wrong way up the ramp in an unmarked vehicle, in plain clothes and yelled expletives at Jones before firing his gun several times.

“Had it not been for the work we do, Corey’s death would have been in vain,” Boldin said in the ad. “The best way to inspire change is to be it.”The ad is part of the NFL’s Inspire Change initiative, which works with the Players Coalition. The initiative, created to showcase how those in the league work together to create positive change across the country, boasts more than $25 million in grants were awarded to social justice organizations.
