Daniel Penny pleaded not guilty to manslaughter charges in a Manhattan courtroom Wednesday morning for the chokehold death of homeless man Jordan Neely.
The 24-year-old former Marine — who appeared in Manhattan Supreme Court clean-shaven and wearing a blue suit and maroon tie —Penny entered the not guilty plea during the brief hearing, which lasted just a handful of minutes.The Long Island native putting Neely — who witnesses said had been threatening subway riders — into a chokehold on an F train on May 1.Penny was charged with manslaughter over Neely’s death.Provided by Carolyn Neely
