Ex-Columbus officer agrees to plead guilty for role in stealing and selling cocaine

signed an agreement admitting to stealing and selling 10 kilograms of cocaine. A change of plea hearing is scheduled for June 12, where attorneys will recommend a sentence considering his acceptance of responsibility.The statement of facts says a uniformed officer conducted a traffic stop on the subject of a drug investigation who was with his wife and children.

The pair had that person tell the other to bring the cocaine to a house on North Everett where Castillo and the other officer were waiting. That unnamed person left the two kilograms near the house's driveway while 10 kilograms were placed in a box in the backyard and then left. The statement said they then went back to where the traffic stop happened and brought the wife, children, and other officers back to the house, where law enforcement found the planted cocaine.
