Not to say the development isn't worrying, but most EU nations at a national level have an ICE ban by 2035 regardless so that plus market dynamics regardless mean target should hopefully be met regardless All new vehicles sold in 2030 must be electric. In the meantime, governments should focus primarily on getting EV chargers deployed strategically and ensuring supply chains are reliable, so buyers can live with an EV and manufacturers can build them all. Battery advances can make EVs cheaper than petrol/diesel vehicles by 2025, as long as supply chains are good — especially with oil market volatility.
