Former 'American Idol' contestant Antonella Barba blames her drug arrest on the show.

Her lawyers argued in the recent filing that Barba's maximum sentence should be further reduced in part because she"led a life more typically characterized by her good works, her humility, and her devotion to her family and her faith" before her lack of success on"American Idol" derailed her life.

The mother said Barba's"sudden move to Hollywood following 'American Idol' 'was a recipe for disaster.'" Her lawyers are asking for Barba's sentence to be reduced to between 3 and 3.8 years, saying"even the low end of this reduced range represents a sentence much greater than necessary."

Grow up and own up

Typical

Many reality contestants only concern themselves with wanting to be famous. And then they get famous...

It's difficult finding compassion toward someone that wanted fame and celebrity. Since it's the interest in fame and celebrity that likely created the conditions for whatever the excuse is since the excuse I that they wanted to be famous and wouldn't have been otherwise burrdened

Son Of Sam blamed his dog. That doesn’t make it accurate.

Its a wonder I'm not on drugs for just watching the show... God help me I do love it... This ----Is ---- American Idol.....

It's NEVER an addict's fault, it's always someone or something that caused it. I made the same excuses during MY addiction. Clean 20 years, and it was ALL of my own making. Got involved with the wrong people, and just didn't say no. Paid a heavy price. Get help, girlfriend.

That’s classic addict behavior. If you had my life, job, stress, family,... anything but taking responsibility herself. She needs serious help and support!

You know just because someone somewhere says something, that doesn’t mean you have to report on it.

Me 2 4 being broke

So 'American Idol' bought the drugs for her, made her use them and made her carry them around. I guess we can impeached 'American Idol' now and over-turn the arrest. No, someone is always looking for someone else to blame.

Just needs something or someone to blame.. no one can take responsibility for their actions i see it everywhere these days.

Oh, sounds like an addict.

Not falling for it. It's so her own fault.

Lets get her the help she needs

I can sympathize with her stance here.

I need drugs to watch it.

I seriously doubt the legitimacy of this article

I started doing drugs too right after I WATCHED the show 🤮🤮🤮

Typical criminal, always blaming someone or something for their problems ! If you cannot do the time, don't do the crime !

HAHAHAHAHA!!!!! Then you shouldn’t have gone on the show. It’s your own fault.

Fair enough....Lol

Keep this same energy when Mason Rudolph allowed himself to be hit in the head with a helmet then complained to the ref and blame the man swinging the helmet... 🤦‍♂️ Mason needs to take responsibiltiy for his actions...

Who?

Of course AntonellaBarba is not responsible for her actions. She’s a product of a generation that has been allowed to blame others.

Speaking from a true addict in denial

...and the number of contestants for 'American Idol' is?

Some people claim there's a woman to blame

Big News Day?

She was trying to bribe the judges?

'American Idol made me do it'

Wow everyone is so quick to blame everyone else except themselves.....Atypical

Calling Dr. Phil!!

I would too

Hahahahahahahahaha

Might be true if she was busted for using, but she was busted for sales and distribution 🤦‍♂️

It's American Idol !
