Business Insider got an exclusive look at the pitch deck Polymateria used to bring investors on board.Polymateria, the plastic-busting startup fronted by Niall Dunne, a veteran executive at Accenture and telecomms giant BT, recently raised $19 million in a funding round backed by Planet First Partners.

Founded in 2018 by Dunne, who worked as BT's head of sustainability for more than six years, Polymateria promises to revolutionize plastic waste by speeding up the biodegrading process, which typically takes decades or even centuries. Working with Imperial College London, the firm says it tested its new plastic-busting solutions on polyethylene and polypropylene — two substances commonly used to make everything from bottles to shopping bags — and found a 100% success rate, breaking each down in a matter of months.
