Will BBC's World On Fire return for season 3?

Summary SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT After a four-year gap, BBC brought World On Fire back for a second season, so could there be some World On Fire season 3 news on the way? The series, created by Peter Bowker, explores the events of World War II through the perspectives of multiple characters on multiple fronts - and not just on the front line of the war zones.

When speaking about the third season of the show, Bowker explained that he had to have a plan in place when he initially pitched the series . Bowker said: As always, we tell stories which have an unforced and not always comfortable contemporary resonance, stories that demonstrate both human resilience and human folly and stories of ordinary lives in extraordinary times.

Is World On Fire Season 3 Confirmed World On Fire season 3 is not confirmed, but that’s not unusual for the BBC drama. With World on Fire season 2 releasing four years after the first season, there was the expectation from some audience members that the show had been unofficially canceled. It’s likely there will be another wait for a third season even if it is confirmed. The World On Fire season 3 release date likely won’t be until at least late 2024 or 2025.

Though they didn’t appear in season 2, the World on Fire season 3 cast could also include Helen Hunt as journalist Nancy Campbell and Brian J. Smith as her nephew Webster O’Connor. The two didn’t appear in the second season because the focus was on the stories of other characters. Bowker wanted to include Helen Hunt in season 2, but her story didn’t fit in.

World On Fire Season 3 Story While it’s likely that the World on Fire season 3 story will pick up not long after the events of season 2, it’s also possible that the narrative could move away from characters the audience knows. The series has already done that with season 2 moving away from the American characters to focus on a Polish woman becoming a spy, an Indian soldier fighting for the British, and a French woman hiding her Jewish ancestry.
