Litter collects in storm drains or pipes or is discarded throughout the city and surrounding area, then it washes into the river.
Brought said one of the things San Antonio residents can do to avoid this kind of litter in the future is not putting their trash out when it's expected to rain. Winds that come with the rain can blow the trash over and scatter it, with some of it likely ending up in the river.
