"The inspiration is a mix between the '70s and the '90s," Longchamp Creative Director Sophie Delafontaine tells MarieClaire.com ahead of her spring 2020 show."So the '70s for the hippie chic feminine attitude and the '90s with the more sporty, graphic inspiration. ...I think the match of both is really contemporary." The effect was silk dresses paired with sleek boxing shoes and nylon jumpsuits in feminine cuts.
So, who is the girl wearing this collection?"She's definitely a city girl, a very active girl, but she's traveling all around the world, she's very international. That's really why I am happy to be a French brand showing here in New York," says Delafontaine. And with fans like Kendall Jenner, Kate Moss, and Juliane Moore front row at the show, which took place around a fountain in the heart of Lincoln Center, that sentiment definitely rings true.
