Authorities said Jimenez was eastbound on the Interstate 94 spur near Northbrook at 5:48 p.m. when his 2007 Cadillac sport utility vehicle left the roadway for an unknown reason. The vehicle struck a guardrail, causing it to roll.

Jimenez was transported to Highland Park Hospital where he was pronounced dead. An autopsy was performed Wednesday with the cause of death attributed to blunt force injuries.
