NEVADA COUNTY – Containment of the Rices Fire in Nevada County increased to 24% Friday night, leading authorities to lift some evacuation warnings, according to Cal Fire.
“Efforts of personnel working on the Rices Fire have increased containment to 24% today, which is allowing several zones in Nevada County that were previously under evacuation warning to beEvacuation orders remain in place for the Bridgeport, Rice’s Crossing and north French Corral areas. “And thus several areas of the fire that are near uncontained areas of the fire on the northern portions of the incident still pose a threat to the surrounding community,” Cal Fire said.
