Good-cause is a ridiculous expectation for landlords and will ultimately result in less housing stock available to rent, which hurts everyone. The idea that people are entitled to maintain indefinite residency on someone else's property except for infractions is not viable. Yeah, the real estate lobby - I know, everyone needs consideration- but the real estate lobby is as powerful as the NRA in NYC and real estate greed is preventing this city from experiencing a real recovery. Good cause is bad for tenants but great for tenant lawyers. 'Good cause' is rent control. Rent control doesn't work. Lawyers know this, but they know that rent control creates tons of fees for them.
