Europa Clipper spacecraft is gearing up for an October 2024 launch. The mission will unravel secrets of Jupiter's ocean-bearing moon Europa.

In less than six months, NASA is gearing up for an epic voyage to one of the most intriguing destinations in our solar system: Jupiter’s ocean moon, Europa.

“Our engineers executed a well-designed and challenging set of tests that put the system through its paces. What we found is that the spacecraft can handle the environments that it will see during and after launch. The system performed very well and operates as expected,” added Evans. In this test, powerful beams from lamps positioned at the base of the Space Simulator reflected off a large mirror at its top. This replicated the heat conditions the spacecraft will encounter.

“There still is work to be done, but we’re on track for an on-time launch. And the fact that this testing was so successful is a huge positive and helps us rest more easily,” said Evans in the
