The plane, a Boeing 737-800MAX with flight number ET 302, lost contact soon after taking off at 08:38 am local time from Bole International Airport in the Ethiopian capital, the airline said in a statement. The aircraft went down around around Bishoftu, southeast of Addis Ababa. The airline believes there were 149 passengers and eight crew members on board.

Really sad new for all of us. Accidents are rare on Ethiopian airlines but you never know when it's coming. R.I.P

Well...we’ll be seeing this story on Air Disasters. Interesting to find out what the cause was after they investigate. With it being one of the best airlines in Africa and great safety record it’ll probably be pilot error.
