The new fissures, about 15 meters (50 feet) apart, sent streaks of fiery red and orange molten rock down toward the sea.

The lava from the volcano that erupted on Spain’s Canary Islands has reached the Atlantic Ocean and set off huge plumes of steam and possibly toxic gases.LOS LLANOS DE ARIDANE, Canary Islands -- An erupting volcano on a Spanish island off northwest Africa blew open two more fissures on its cone Friday that belched forth lava, with authorities reporting “intense” activity in the area.

The volcano was “much more aggressive,” almost two weeks after it erupted on the island of La Palma, said Miguel Ángel Morcuende, technical director of the Canary Islands' emergency volcano response department. The eruption was sending gas and ash up to 6,000 meters into the air, officials said. A new area of solidified lava where the molten rock is flowing into the sea extends over more than 20 hectares .

The volcano has so far emitted some 80 million cubic meters of molten rock, scientists estimate — more than double the amount in the island’s last eruption, in 1971.

Covid-19 deaths eclipse 700,000 in U.S. as delta variant ragesThe 700,000 landmark is deeply frustrating to doctors, public health officials and the American public, who watched a pandemic that had been easing earlier in the summer take a dark turn. Only 100k deaths to go and 3 months to hit that mark to match the trump death toll. Only difference is there was no vaccine with trump and there is with biden. So Biden has handled the pandemic worse!!! Impeachment calling line 1!! COVID deaths are up 300% from last September, when there was no vaccine. There is a bacteriological war going on.There will be more and more viruses and people will die. This is a war for survival.
