Around 25,000 people have died in the Mediterranean Sea over the last eight years, Turkey's President Erdogan says

Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan speaks during a video conference in Ankara, Turkey on Jun 20, 2020.

“In the past eight years, 25,000 people, most of them women and children, died in the treacherous waters of Mediterranean,” Recep Tayyip Erdogan said in the closing ceremony of the International Migration Film Festival via videoconference. “Today there are nearly 260 million migrants, more than 71 million displaced people and also over 25 million refugees in the world” he added.

Turkey devised comprehensive policies for migrants from sheltering to health, education to social integration in order to facilitate their lives, Erdogan said, adding that those were all done with the country’s own resources as the EU and other countries did not provide support.

Quotas? No quotas for UK because UK refused to take Syrian refugees, except some children. Then came the Brexit-vote in UK: anti-immigration & anti-european. I think this shows the true nature of british people: right-wing. Why not mention these things as well, TRTWorld?

Thanks so much from real world leader (Turkey president)
