Here's what you need to know to claim part of the $700 million Equifax settlement.

Credit monitoring:

If you plan to file a claim for time or monetary loss, you’ll want to gather your documentation before you even start filling out the online claims form. Documenting any time or money you spent because of this breach will be crucial to receiving compensation. “If you don’t have good records, you may not be able to see the full benefit of what the settlement is providing,” Lacey says.

Be as clear as possible when submitting information, and keep copies of everything including any documents you submit and also the completed claim form. St. John recommends taking screenshots.

What most people don't think to check..are the accounts of the deceased. They are prime candidates for that reason..no one would expect it or check.

Before lawyer fees....

Great for letting people know. But your the media. Why are you NOT outraged by the death penalty. The media can speak for the people. Do your dam job !!!

Lol lies. The only one who wins in class action is the lawyers. fools

Only $20k?

If you keep advertising this, each person is going to get 19 cents.

If we don't know if our information was compromised, what can we do ?

No it’s $126.00. What a joke !

All I got was $125

or you could get conned into purchasing some affiliated credit monitoring 'service' with your $4 coupon. $700÷150=?

Or just $500 if you can roll a log on water for 5 miles.

When you reset your password they ask you to type in your social security number. Your SS is not hidden like it was with the other credit reporting agencies. Expect more lawsuits against Equifax for being negligent in their security practices. EquifaxDataBreach

Or 16 cents. 😁

I filled out the application until I reached the end and found out I have to be currently signed up for credit monitoring which will last at least another six months. So, even though my info was involved, I don't qualify for squat.

Lies! No research here! You might get a quarter. Total BS.

And on top of this, they collect our info and make money by charging for credit reports when you want to buy on credit.

Hallelujah!!!

Chris502

you’re not getting shit

No

this feels like a huge scam

This was only Americans - no-one else?

I requested my $125😎

If you get anything it will be a check for around $1.15

Thank you for the feature! It’s important for consumers to document what you do in response. The Identity Theft Center’s ID Theft Help app has a case log tool that can help you track any actions you take in response to a breach.

How to get their hard copy & not trusting online submission?

Use the tool to see if you were affected
