"The number I gave out is, you know, based on modeling," Fauci said, explaining the models he discussed on CNN's State of the Union Sunday morning."What we’re trying to do is not to let that happen," he said., called the decision to extend the mitigation process until the end of April a"wise and prudent decision."
He added that he and Dr. Deborah Birx, response coordinator for the White House Coronavirus Task Force, discussed the plans and that the President accepted their recommendation.

200,000 dead, with let's say a 1% death rate, is 20 million infected. 10 million infected if using a 2% death rate. It could potentially kill millions if there is high infection rates among the elderly and people don't stay home like they need to perhaps for 18 months to 2 years.

Yes, it is more than likely, we all eventually will come into contact with it. There were at least 60,000,000 swine flu cases at one point. The best hope is to slow the rate of transmission so the hospitals can manage the most serious cases.
