A group of top showrunners including a number of those from this year’s Emmy-nominated series were treated to dinner and drinks courtesy of Craig’s at this year’sThe evening was a forum for showrunners to celebrate their artisan and crew teams with shout-outs to key show staffers who went the extra mile to get episodes produced during the pandemic-wallopped season like no other.,” said Barry Jossen, president and head of A+E Studios said at the start of the Sept. 14 event.
The evening featured a cocktail hour at 6:30 p.m. and a toast to showrunners at 7:15 p.m. Key attendees included Barry Jenkins , Michelle and Robert King , Steven Canals , Robin Thede , Angela Kang , Chris Van Dusen , Courtney Lilly , Misha Green , Eric Kripke , Jac Schaeffer , Courtney Kemp , Kate Herron , Josh Safran , Scott Frank , Sierra Teller Ornelas , Bruce Miller , Malcolm Spellman and many more.
“This past year has taught our industry much about resilience and new expressions of creativity,” Jossen said. “Together we overcame unexpected production delays and implemented new guidelines and safety measures in our workplaces, resulting in an efficient restart of production.” Moreover, pandemic conditions created a special kind of urgency for storytelling over the past 18 months. Hollywood proved that the show did go on.
“The leadership of the showrunners joining us tonight and throughout our industry enabled television to thrive and have another great year,” Jossen said. “People want to watch, they want to feel and they want to talk about their TV. So I toast all of you tonight with gratitude for your creativity, vision and compassion.”
