SpaceX is currently trying to convince the Federal Communications Commission to allow it to bring some of its Starlink satellites to lower altitudes than originally planned. Other companies, including Amazon, have protested the request, saying the move would interfere with their own satellite launches.
CNBC reporter Michael Sheetz on Monday tweeted quotes from SpaceX director David Goldman, who presented to FCC officials last week, that called Amazon's objections "misleading" and "attempts to stifle competition.". "It does not serve the public to hamstring Starlink today for an Amazon satellite system that is at best several years away from operation," he said."The facts are simple.
"It is clearly in SpaceX's interest to smother competition in the cradle if they can, but it is certainly not in the public's interest," they added.
