Formula E still has some way to go before it can rival the two-hour races of F1. But it is racing along fast

will never, in reality, be able to watch the Boonta Eve Classic Podrace on Tatooine. But they might find a pretty good substitute on the streets of Monaco, Berlin and New York over the next few months.

The most recent ePrix of the season took place at the end of April, in a hailstorm. The circuit was the streets around Les Invalides, Louis XIV’s monumental home for retired and injured soldiers in Paris. There were, as with fictional podracing, a fair few crashes and smashes before Robin Frijns, of the Envision Virgin Racing team, took his place on the winner’s podium.

Fastest growing? Probably not. However don’t discredit this, technology made in the racing industry, especially when it comes to performance and safety trickle down to consumer cars. I’m all for electric cars catching up to the petrol ones.

I've never understood the appeal of watching cars go round and round a track, I find it one of the more boring sports out there. Test Cricket is still the most boring though, by a long shot.

Just like all car racing, a complete waste of energy.

Really, fastest-growing? The only time I ever hear about 'Formula E' is when I check the Economist's Twitter feed.

electric race cars are boring and not ecological. (how is electricity produced?)

Here’s how climate voters will drive the 2020 raceAnalysis: During the 2016 general election, no journalist even asked the presidential candidates a debate question on climate change. That won't be the case this year. The media seems pretty desperate to convince us (and themselves) that climate change is going to be a big issue in 2020. It isn't. Sorry but global warming and climate change is not putting food on my table and money in my bank account...
