Several volunteer fire departments were dispatched to a home on Army Road Extended around 4:30 p.m. Wednesday.The Mobile County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to the scene shortly after.Evidence markers by a trampoline outside showed where the victim was stabbed and then crawled into the nearby woods under an 18-wheeler.
Investigators could not confirm if the victim and suspect are family members.A volunteer firefighter was injured while battling the fire, but was not taken to the hospital and possibly suffered a twisted ankle, according to officials.The Mobile County Sheriff’s Office and the State Fire Marshall are the lead investigators on the case.
