Edwards Aquifer Authority moves to Stage 4 drought restrictions

The Edwards Aquifer Authority has entered Stage 4 water restrictions, cutting pumping from the Central Texas groundwater system by 40%. The aquifer is a limestone cavern system that spans more than 3,000 miles and provides water for more than 2 million people. The authority, which manages the aquifer, said Friday that water flow levels at Comal Springs in New Braunfels prompted the heightened restrictions.
