Editorial: Abbott is failing a critical test in Uvalde — being there

Texans — those we’ve lost, those grieving massacred loved ones and those of us praying our families won’t be next — deserve more thanIf showing up is half the battle, the governor is failing.

Yet per capita TX puts more people to death than any other state. Why so much strength and conviction for ultimate punishment and nothing for people in the act of murder?
