FILE- In this Friday May 19, 2017 file photo, WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange greets supporters outside the Ecuadorian embassy in London. Ecuador's President Lenin Moreno said on Tuesday, March 2, 2019, that he wants to reach an agreement for Assange to leave the Embassy in London as soon as possible, as long as his life is not in danger.
A small group of protesters and supporters of WikiLeaks’ founder gathered Thursday outside the embassy in London where Assange has been holed up since August 2012. He has feared extradition to the U.S. since WikiLeaks published thousands of classified military and diplomatic cables. Later, a top official said while Ecuadorian President Lenín Moreno was angered by the apparent hacking of his personal communications, he denied WikiLeaks’ claim and said no decision had been taken to expel Assange from the Embassy. The official spoke on the condition of anonymity because he wasn’t authorized to discuss the matter.
Moreno accused WikiLeaks of intercepting phone calls and private conversations as well as “photos of my bedroom, what I eat, and how my wife and daughters and friends dance.”
aleksmit5 Despite your questionable source, we will continue our protests.
pound sand
With any luck, the Ambassador will throw assange out on his backside 5 minutes before the appeals clerk closes for the weekend, he cannot apply for bail since that's why the Metropolitan police will arrest him as he sets foot on UK soil, so, he can trade one cell for another!
Well, that’s disappointing. Was hoping McRapey would fall into the arms of British law enforcement. Just another ploy to gain sympathy and money from the gullible.
When Assange is finally arrested & tried, shall the time spent in confinement in the Ecuadorian embassy be considered in sentencing? Assange Wikileaks
charliearchy He wants attention
He does this for the publicity, it works because I'd forgotten about him, and since thinking about him in his self exiled cupboard cheered me up, I have to thank him for that!
Yet British police are stationed outside and said to have rented an apartment across the street for constant surveillance of the embassy.
TrueFactsStated Doesn't 'tweets from Wikileaks' equal 'tweets from Julian Assange?'
TrueFactsStated Maybe they wanted to air out the rooms!
TrueFactsStated Why not?
TrueFactsStated He's just trying to get money and attention. Him and his Russian masters knows he can evade justice only as long as he can maintain his martyrdom schtick.
this is a good time to lock him up
You would think by now people would report on things AFTER they happened and not guess, predict things and write about it before it happens.
How about kick him the nuts and let him sit on the steps
It’s time he is put behind bars as he has turned into a Russian hacker and drifted away from the good cause
High time the chicken got kicked out
Just release the MoFo to the London police already!!!
When he steps outside, will the round be Russian, or......?
Please protect Mr. Assange for the good of all humanity.
'The official spoke on the condition of anonymity because he wasn’t authorized to discuss the matter.' Seems like an odd thing not to be able to get an official record of, if there weren't something to it.
maddezmom I said 'Why are we taking Wikileaks word for anything?'
Why do people keep falling for these “leaks” from Wikileaks? Assange is just playing with you.
JAIL THE BEAST
However, we are establishing a GoFundMe account for basement cleaning
This is the second time in recent memory that rumors of his expulsion have been floated to the press. Could Assange be trying to cultivate sympathy and encourage offers to help spirit him away to another place safe from extradition?
Can we get a seat and bring 🍿
What a shock that Wikileaks is full of shit and posts absolute bollocks. Such a shame it's moved so far away from the amazing platform it started from.
Hope his cat will be allowed to stay.
WikiLeaks is a Russian intelligence asset. It's been compromised and Julian is in cahoots with Russia. Most of the 'employees' are Russian intelligence.
A Week it is then 😂
Only 7 hours behind these developments, AP...congrats on getting a story out there though. Here's a live feed for those interested in the on the ground situation-
It's about time they send him packing. There's no reason for him to stay there.
