Earthquake shakes Southern California, day after most powerful quake in 20 years

For the second day in a row, a powerful earthquake shook Southern California on Friday, this one bigger than the previous, knocking out power in the desert city of Ridgecrest and rattling people from Las Vegas to Los Angeles.

Emergency assistance was coming from other communities, he said, including Fresno, Los Angeles and Orange County. Gov. Gavin Newsom said he activated the state’s Office of Emergency Services at the highest level, and is coordinating mutual aid.Warren Cooper, who owns a wrought iron and handyman business in the Ridgecrest area, said his business suffered damage and his mobile home was"destroyed.

I predicated these earthquakes on Nov 28th 2018. Posted right before the quake in Alaska.

I experienced a moment magnitude 5.9 quake in 1988 when living 37 miles away from the epicentre. Horrifying. Can only imagine what a 7.1 one feels like. Indeed words fail when experiencing pure terror. My ♥️ goes out 2 everyone in Ridgecrest, CA, & everywhere it hit strongly.

USGS haven’t told us yet whether there is potential of triggering the San Andreas Fault. This could be more significant if this was not the main quake.

I grew up in California we had serval in the sixties in the seventies that was pretty good are JrH. was down a 2/3 days the pool cracked, good-sized 1of the 90s but it's always terrible when people get hurt they're scary I live through them they're not fun not a day at the beach

Gosh jolly frightening. I was eating Seafood in a Bay area restaurant San Fransisco in early 1990's when we had an 'everyday' rumble in the jungle! They are still due a Gurt massive quake!! Very cheap holiday destination.. if up for the gamble?

I live about 60 mins SE of Phx & I felt that one!😳 Never experienced anything like that before. I got so dizzy so suddenly that I seriously thought I was having a stroke or something! Can’t imagine what it would be like to be in the middle of it!!
