There may be more than 10 trillion dark matter particles in each cubic centimetre of Earth’s crust

NASA, ESA, and P. van Dokkum

Dark matter can be trapped inside massive objects, and much of it may be closer to the surface of stars and planets than we realised. On Earth, there may be more than 10 trillion dark matter particles in each cubic centimetre of the planet’s crust. is a hypothetical form of matter that isn’t visible because it doesn’t seem to interact with light at all. However, it does interact with regular, or baryonic, matter …

If you don't know what it is, then how do you know there are 10 trillion. This is just another crap pseudo science story.

Wrong! I counted them and there's only 9 trillion 999 billion 999 million 999 thousand 999. Get somebody that can count next time.

To be convincing, show the appearance and describe at least one single axion? You know that any mathematics, under many hypotheses, is very tiring and cancels seriousness!?

i think the universe matter equation is wrong, the deep field image showed a blank dark spot containing much more that we knew about and then theres the matter behind what we can see thats obscured, so the maths wrong and there may be NO dark matter.

Don't you just love Theoretical Physicists! So obsessed with Mathematical perfection that they can't see the wood for the trees.

And why we haven’t detected them yet?

This kind of story ranks with typical Popular Science articles! Reduced read: ‘may or may not be’. This is someone’s thought experiment, not science.

Bugger!

But, then again, it might not. A difference that makes no difference is no difference

Is it worth anything?

Hahaha. No

...or may be none.

No wonder im so itchy

How could you tell the difference between dark and 'regular' matter on a planet?Does it absorb photons?

My goodness 😳... seriously!

Evidence not inference please

May be. Maybe not.

Not a subscriber so couldn't read, but intro says it's trapped and sinks towards the center of the earth? What makes it sink?

What if Dark Energy is an Electrical Current between charged particles, and the current creates massive Electro Magnetic Fields (you would never see it, but the effect can be observed)

Amazing nature!

Or none at all!

No.

I beg to differ...
