SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY Now, The Wrap puts some of the blame for Shazam 2's failure at Dwayne Johnson's feet, as the Black Adam star reportedly vetoed ideas that would have seen Zachary Levi's Shazam cameo in Black Adam's post-credits scene or Justice Society characters appear in Shazam! Fury of the Gods' post-credits scene.

Maybe it's a failure because it is 1) DC 2) Known to be not a part of any future DC plans 3) not very good or interesting 4) is DC 5) Did I mention this is a DC movie that doesn't connect to most other DC movies like The Batman and Joker which don't connect to each other?

It's failing because they (writers) treated it like a comedy for children, and Levi WAY overcook his character's goofy and juvenile personality.

Honestly. IMO, the superhero/comic genres are done. The last good superhero/comic movie in terms of box office numbers was Spider-Man:No way home. Even Marvel's movies are doing bad in box office numbers. People have had enough of comics/superheroes.
