by LENNY COHEN | The National DeskJoanna Elizabeth Oswalt was charged with DUI , April 27, 2024. A green Toyota pickup struck the back of a parked Jeep, and a witness reported the driver "to be unresponsive to verbal commands and was unable to stand upon exiting the vehicle."
That’s straight from the arrest report which added, “The defendant seemed to be unaware that the crash had even occurred,” and, “The defendant was unable to continue to stand, and laid on the ground in the parking lot.”A police officer wrote about finding Joanna Elizabeth Oswalt “to have glassy eyes, and the impurities of an alcohol beverage emanating from the vehicle.”“I observed multiple clues of impairment in all three field sobriety exercises,” she wrote in the arrest report.
For example, in the Walk and Turn, “The defendant struggled to keep balance while listening to the instructions and was unable to remain in the starting position, even after multiple attempts to do so.” And, in the One Leg Stand, “The defendant was unable to keep her balance and was unable to follow any of the instructions. The defendant did not count out loud and put her foot down multiple times.”The 55-year-old was charged with DUI, booked after midnight, and released after eight hours in jail.
