UNION COUNTY, OHIO, Ohio — A Dublin teen was sentenced last month to three years in prison after repeated car thefts in central Ohio last year, according toTarik Ganz, 18, was sentenced on March 11 to the maximum terms of 18 months on each of his cases out of Union County, the prosecutor's office said. The court ordered that the sentences be run consecutively.

According to the prosecutor's office, Ganz was arrested in September 2023 after he crashed a stolen Kia just outside of Marysville. Witnesses reported the car was driven erratically, going off the road into a ditch and becoming airborne before hitting an embankment. He was charged with receiving stolen property and was released on a recognizance bond two days later.

Shortly after that incident, Ganz stole another Kia in Marysville. He was apprehended by Marysville police and was charged with grand theft of a motor vehicle. A few months later, Phillips' office said Ganz broke into one vehicle and stole another in Dublin on Dec. 24, 2023. Ganz was identified as damaging a Kia Sol and breaking into and stealing a Kia Sportage from Coughlin Cars in Dublin.

After being arrested for that incident, Ganz fled the state and was later arrested in Tennessee.
