by Danielle MacKimm, KUTVA driver involved in a Taylorsville road rage incident that occurred Friday was booked into jail on several felony charges .
While parked in the lot, the officer said he heard a woman screaming and immediately responded to find two men physically fighting.One of the men was reportedly striking another with a metal club. The officer then exited his vehicle and separated the two men. Additional officers were called onto the scene.
In an interview with police, Lujan said that the incident began around 5400 South and Redwood Road when he was trailing behind another vehicle occupied by the other man and his girlfriend - the woman heard screaming at the Speedway.Lujan said that the other driver began yelling and throwing his fists into the air which made Lujan angry. He then followed the couple to the Speedway where they stopped to get gas, exited his vehicle, and confronted the male driver.
Lujan told police that he did not brandish the gun during the incident but adjusted its position. He added that he was carrying it for protection.During a search of Lujan's vehicle, officers located a backpack holding marijuana in a gallon ziplock bag packed into six separate containers along with a scale and empty baggies.
