The Dothan Fire Department has purchased two new front-line engines and a ladder truck, totaling $2.3 million. The engines were displayed at the Dothan Civic Center, with firefighters available to answer questions. The department provides emergency response services in the city and offers mutual aid to the county.

The Dothan Fire Department now owns three new fire engines — two new front-line engines also known as pumpers and a ladder truck . First responders put the new engines on display Tuesday afternoon at the Dothan Civic Center on Troy Street. Firefighters were on site ready to answer any questions regarding the new engines. The city bought one of truck in 2021, another in 2022 and a third in 2023. All three apparatus costs $2.3 million total.

The two pumpers averaged at approximately $670,000 each and the ladder truck costs nearly $1,000,000, bringing the total to approximately $952,000. The Dothan Fire Department is a comprehensive department that responds to all, public safety emergencies in the city. They also provide mutual aid into the county to support the volunteer rescue squads and volunteer fire departmen
