Trump's address at the Lincoln Memorial, to be delivered at a"Salute to America" event at 6:30 p.m. on Independence Day, is designed"to honor America’s armed forces," the Interior Department said. Then-President-elect Donald Trump and wife Melania Trump at the Lincoln Memorial the day before his inauguration."The current security and event structure was well developed after 9/11 to keep the event and all of the attendees safe," said Moira Whelan, a homeland security and State Department official during the Barack Obama administration.
The"Salute to America" at the Lincoln Memorial in which Trump"leads a celebration of America’s military with music, military demonstrations and flyovers," according to the Interior Department.
We have Armed Forces Day thank you. Independence Day is for celebrating America Independence from British rule and has been tradition from the very beginning. Don't start changing tradition at your whim. YOU SERVE AND SUPPORT USA IN OUR TRADITIONS.

This parade on July4th down Constitution Ave has been going on for years as Salute to Our Military. It has long been a privately funded, much-loved part of IndependenceDay in Washington, DC. No politician has been so shameful as to claim credit for it until our current POTUS
