Donald Trump can't keep Ivanka and Jared 'off limits' in new Congress investigations, Chris Christie says

Former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie has warned that President Donald Trump’s family members working in his administration cannot be considered off-limits for federal investigations.

According to the Times, both Kelly and then-White House Counsel Donald McGahn II were so concerned by the order that they wrote contemporaneous internal memos recording the decision. McGahn’s memo included concerns raised about Kushner by the CIA, and noted that the former counsel had recommended Kushner not be granted top-secret clearance.

Christie dismissed the suggestion, but admitted, “The president placed his daughter and his son-in-law into official positions in the White House. Not as informal advisors but as official job holders in the White House. You can’t say they’re off limits now.” “I told the president this…[Congress] is not going to stop at anything,” Christie added. “They’re going to bring everybody they think they have to bring in.”
