Capping a day of wild swings in the ongoing impeachment saga and the conflict in Syria, President Donald Trump told Texas supporters that next year's election puts 'the survival of American democracy itself' at stake.

David Jackson, Courtney Subramanian and John FritzeDALLAS – Capping a day of wild swings in the ongoing impeachment saga and the conflict in Syria, President Donald Trump told Texas supporters Thursday that next year's election puts"the survival of American democracy itself" at stake.

The president peppered his speech with bracing claims that Democrats –"leftists, socialists, and globalists" – are trying to"overthrow the results" of the 2016 election. He called them"crazy" and"sick" and said he doesn't believe they love their country."The fact that he feels the need to do a rally in Texas suggests to me that he knows that he is going to be impeached in the House," said Democratic strategist Jim Manley.

Mulvaney also announced that Trump would host next year's G-7 economic summit at his golf club in Miami. Critics called it another example of Trump using his position to enrich himself. Trump praised Perry during the rally in Dallas, and touted the ceasefire as a way to withdraw U.S. troops from northern Syria.

Another said,"roses are red/violets are blue/you're a LIBERAL/this for you" next to an image of Trump giving the finger.

About 15 miles away in Grand Prairie, Democratic presidential Beto O'Rourke, who narrowly lost a Senate race in Texas just last year, held a rally of his own to denounced Trump.

He’s right. I don’t know what will happen to our democracy if he wins re-election

He’s right! That’s exactly why he needs to be removed from office!

By you Trump

Again with the fucking projection. He's completely right, of course, just not the role he's pretending to occupy.

Your story should be about the RallyAgainstFear. NoFear Beto2020

👌

He's right about that but not for the reasons he would give.

I agree. If you want to keep a spoiled bully that acts like a child, then he is what you want. If you want a wanna be dictator the he is what you want. If you want someone that is just for the greed and power then he is what you want.

What a psychopath

Certainly the democratic socialist are the harbingers of death of capitalism and the Constitution

I totally agree with this. Socialism will destroy our freedoms & country.

YEAH, WHEN THE CHEIF OF STAFF ADMITS TO ILLEGAL ACTIVITIES AND SAYS, 'GET OVER IT.'

Well the emperor has that right....

The asshole was elected by republic standards. Democracy would have seen the 3 million more people that voted for the other candidate win.

'Democracy.'

Donald Trump at Dallas rally: The fate of democracy is at stake in 2020It's true. If Dump is elected, democracy is gone I couldn’t agree more. If we don’t get him out of office we are all fucked! His Twitter at the moment reads like some sort of extreme propaganda machine, just pumping out anything to get a response. The man needs a hobby. I would say a pet rock, but he would just use it to build a wall.
